Lecturer in Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Maine (Orono, ME) invites applications for a Lecturer (on-going) to begin August 28, 2017. This is a full-time continuing position, with reappointment subject to satisfactory performance. The primary responsibility is teaching courses in the general chemistry program, with the possibility of occasional teaching of courses in other areas of chemistry. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to develop innovative and effective approaches to instruction, including participation in the UMaine STEM Education Signature Area. Other duties may include student advising and appropriate department or university service. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching chemistry at the undergraduate level. The option of summer teaching for additional compensation is available. Consideration of applications will begin November 15, 2016 and continue until the position is filled.

Requirements. The position requires a Ph.D. in chemistry.
