Honoring  PROF. MARGARET ANN ARMOUR   at the University of Alberta,  Alberta, Canada. January 2019

The University of Alberta has created a lecture series to honor the amazing contributions of Prof. Margaret Ann Armour in the chemistry department, both for her science and contributions to women in science. She founded Women in Scholarship, Engineering, Science and Technology (WISEST) at the University of Alberta in 1981, and since its inception, the WISEST programs have reached more than 15,000 participants with 85% of their Summer Research Participants pursuing undergraduate degrees in Science or Engineering.  Prof. Richmond was invited to be part of that inaugural lecture series to discuss her research and also COACh.

COACh and the CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars Program, Virtual    June 2020

As much of our scientific meetings have recently gone virtual because of the COVID-19, many of COACh workshops have also.  This month Prof. Richmond presented the COACh virtual workshop on Mentoring for Success and Innovation to the current group of Canadian Azrieli Global Scholars.  This program supports exceptional early-career researchers with funding, mentorship, a global network, and professional skills development.  It was super to meet all these Canadian rising stars!

CIFAR is a Canadian-based global charitable organization that convenes extraordinary minds to address the most important questions facing science and humanity.
